Structural Concrete Steps Burnaby

Concrete Stairs Company Burnaby
On concrete stairs, we shall do a job profile. We had a client approach us about changing his ageing rickety wood stairs into concrete steps to enhance the aesthetic of his property as well as the safety of the users of the step. We enjoy a challenge and took on the challenge.
We initially drew what the new steps would look like concrete, which were fairly similar to the current indicating where additional support would be for the concrete stairs. The family loved the present style so we chose to essentially change the wood stairs into concrete ones.
A large 24″ thick structural wall was created 1st to support the cantilever stairs to be poured later. Piles and footings were poured monolithically with rebar connecting everything.
The cantilever landings are subjected to considerable stress; joining them above the structural wall required an excessive volume of rebar, both 15M and 20M. On both sides, epoxy-coated rebar was dowelled into the structural wall, ensuring that the concrete would not shift or pull away in the future.
The concrete used in this project was a 35mpa air entrainment concrete with plasticizer. After pouring the concrete, forms and shoring were kept in place for 28 days to allow the concrete to attain 90 plus percent of its strength, ensuring that when the forms were dismantled, there would be no movement at any hinge points in the concrete. It worked brilliantly, since there were no cracks visible on this concrete stair project.
The job turned out near flawless. The owners loved the end-result keeping. We were able to keep the original design they liked and turn it into a new beautiful modern definite structural concrete step.
If you have a concrete step project or any project that requires quality craftsmanship, give us a call or send your plans today, we would be happy to build your concrete project.
